Description:  

As a member of a team responsible for creating software for the development of innovative in vitro diagnostic solutions, the Co-Op Software Engineer will assist with the design and development of software as we transition to fully cloud-based application development on AWS.  

   

Responsibilities:  

  • Cultivate effective working relationships with other test team members, software architects, software testers, microbiology experts, business analysts and project leads.
  • Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze feature requirements, specifications, and user stories to design and develop software-solutions.
  • Design, code, test, deploy and maintain solutions.
  • Support verification of selected anomaly fixes, including assisting with verification-testing activities and field-related support.
  • Train on assigned procedures relevant to daily work.

   

Minimum Qualifications :  

  • Currently pursuing  a Bachelor’s (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree in Computer Science. Biology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Knowledge of the agile software development methodologies
  • Demonstrate good understanding of software fundamentals
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create clear and concise documentation
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

   

Preferred or Desirable Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of the SDLC and Agile testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge or experience with Full Stack Java development, including:
    • Spring ( Spring Boot, DI, Transactional support, Spring Data JPA, Spring Cloud Config, Spring Security )
    • JPA/Hibernate
    • SOA/REST services using Spring Boot and Swagger
    • HTML 5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript.
    • Junit/Mockito/Spock testing frameworks
    • Angular or other SPA framework
    • Authentication using LDAP, JWT, SAML
    • SSL communication
    • OO analysis and design experience using Design Patterns
    • Automated unit and integration testing
    • CI/CD process, Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins
    • Cloud technology experience - AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda Functions, ECS, EKS, RDS)
    • Scripting language (Python, Groovy, Bash, etc )
    • Version control system (GitHub, GitLab)
    • Linux command line usage experience
    • Understanding of databases/SQL (Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, etc.)
